DEEP AND MEANINGFUL EDITORIAL
As with Bristol City and Bristol Rovers, the music field here is reching new and unparallelled heights of renown. This exciting new season is of course reflected here in the Recorder. Although this first issue was produced with considerable speed and on one of the world's shortest shoestring budgets, it has already been hailed as "more important tha Shakespeare" (who's he, anyway?) and "what the world has waited for since printing was invented". Modesty prevents us from revealing any further extracts from our sacks of fan-mail.
The Recorder's startlingly original use of adverts has of course not escaped the attention of the nation; not only has the innovation rocked the existing socio-economic order - it also means that we can flog this rubbish for mere two hundred and fifty pennies (local recommended price only.) As erring advertisers gradually see the folly of their ways and acknowledge the new world-order, we will naturally raise our level of quality-control still further and lower the retail price as far as we can.
The bands on vinyl here and the articles inside the paper are a reflection of what happens here at the moment; there are many more bands and many more issues, but these are the ones that presented themselves at the time. If you've bought a copy, we hope enjoy reading and listening to it all - and that you remember to buy our next issue. The Bristol Recorder will appear every three months, and we'll have a bumper Christmas issue on sale early on in December.
We'd be grateful for any criticisms, suggestions or advice - especially if you do, or know of, anything that might be worth recording or printing. The address to write to is 16, AMBROSE ROAD, CLIFTONWOOD, BRISTOL 8.
